The Machine Summit 2025, organized by the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED), was held in Istanbul under the motto “New Future: Are you the rival or un-rivaled?”. The summit highlighted the strategic role of the machinery manufacturing industry in Türkiye’s economy and sustainable development, while addressing topics such as the emerging multipolar world order, rising protectionism, trade wars, green and digital transformation, and AI-supported production.
One of the keynote speakers, MAKFED Chairman Adnan Dalgakıran, drew attention to the global competitive landscape shaped by two main poles centered around the US and China. Dalgakıran underlined that China now stands out not only in low-cost production but also in design and innovation, stressing that the Turkish machinery sector needs to focus on technology, efficiency and high value-added production. He emphasized that, in order to remain “un-rivaled” in this rapidly changing environment, companies must develop flexible strategies, move toward high value-added production and be prepared in advance for possible scenarios.
