Ömer Dalgakıran
Ömer Dalgakıran began to work as an apprentice in the legendary Perşembe Bazaar of Turkish machinery industry. He learnt how to use milling and lathe machines. Ömer Dalgakıran also learnt how to make machine parts one by one and learned how to built compressors from very experienced masters who had been producing compressors for the region. He did not regard a compressor as a tool that simply included certain parts and comprehended that each part had an alternative. Later, Dalgakıran Kompresor was founded by Ömer Dalgakıran in 25 m2 workshop in 1965. He began by manufacturing DKÇ-100 and DKÇ-200 type compressors. While manufacturing on the one hand, he also repaired other compressors on the other. He particularly manufactured the unavailable parts for machines that remained from the years of war. He started to sell compressors that he himself designed and manufactured. And later, he added DKK-40-type high-pressure compressors used as margins in main engines in the industry of maritime trade to his range of products. Today, Ömer Dalgakıran is the honorary president of Dalgakıran Compressor that has “served as a business partner to all branches of industry for 45 years” and has been exporting its products to more than 100 countries in five continents.
